Day 25 - April 10, 2019

30 Days to a Vibrant Spirituality Online Retreat

Day 25 - April 10
Our Christian “Job Description”

There is so much wrong in our world, so much deceit, so much injustice, so much wrong thinking and deliberate distortion of truth—in the church as well as in family and social life, business, and politics—that our natural reaction is “fight or flight.” But we are called to respond as Jesus did; because in baptism we became Christ.
We were anointed, solemnly consecrated by God himself, to continue Christ’s “messianic mission” as prophet, priest, and king. To do that is our “job description” as Christians.
We can’t do everything, of course. No manager can. But if we have a sense of responsibility for everything, we will notice everything, and then do what we can do. We will make responsible decisions not to get involved in what we haven’t the time or talent for, or in what conflicts with other responsibilities.
We can’t do everything. But we can notice everything. And when we start noticing, we realize we have accepted responsibility.

Stop now and think.  Does this make sense to me?
How can I respond to what Fr. Knight is saying?
